Village Renewal Development Strategy Based on Catalyst EffectA Case Study of Shankouling Village in Hefei City

With the case study of Shankouling Village in Hefei city, the development path and method of village renewal was discussed based on the idea of catalyst element selection, catalyst effect activation and catalyst effect guidance. The results show that architectural space, public space, ecological space and so on are material catalyst in Shankouling Village, and the history and its culture are the non-material catalyst of the village renewal development, and relevant policy and planning of village are the external catalyst of the village renewal development. Based on the characteristics of material and non-material media in Shankouling Village, internal catalyst effect of village renewal development are activated from architecture space transformation, public space optimization, ecological space renovation and exploration of folk customs and historical and cultural resources. Internal catalyst is reactivated with the guidance of policies and planning. Strengthening the guidance is the key to constantly boost the role of the external catalyst effect.
