Research Hotspots and Trends of Organizational Digital Resilience from the Perspective of Management Science

  • Amidst intensifying environmental uncertainty and the deepening of digital transformation, organizational digital resilience, as a core capability for enterprises to withstand risks and achieve sustainable development, has emerged as a frontier topic in management research. Based on 314 management articles indexed in the Web of Science database from 2012 to 2024, a knowledge mapping analysis was conducted using CiteSpace software. Through methods such as keyword co-occurrence analysis, co-word analysis, strategic diagrams, and co-citation clustering with burst detection, the hot topics and evolutionary trends of digital resilience research from the management perspective were systematically revealed. It is found that research hotspots in organizational digital resilience encompass topics such as concept definition and measurement methods, multi-level influencing factors and their ambivalent effects, demonstrating a paradigm shift from “crisis response” to “proactive resilience building”. Furthermore, the knowledge structure of this field is characterized by the dual cores of “organizational digital resilience” and “supply chain digital resilience”, showing an evolutionary trend from static capability building within organizations, to dynamic adaptation and coordination at the supply chain level, and ultimately to symbiotic evolution at the ecosystem level. Future research is expected to achieve breakthroughs in four areas: first, integrating fragmented theoretical connotations to construct a technology-organization-environment synergistic assessment framework; second, deepening research on influencing factors by examining their mechanisms from individual, organizational, and environmental dimensions; third, expanding application scenarios to quantify the differentiated effects of digital resilience in emerging contexts; and fourth, strengthening interdisciplinary integration to build a systematic framework that bridges the gap between theoretical innovation and practical application.
