Preparation of M Type SrFe12O19 Ferrite by Using Mixed Fe Sources

  • Hexagonal M Type SrFe12O19 ferrites were prepared via oxide method by using α-FeOOH and a-Fe2O3 as mixed Fe source, and their structure and magnetic properties were analyzed with X ray diffractometer, scanning electron microscope, Fourier transformed infrared spectrometer and vibrating sample magnetometer. The results show that Fe source has little effect on the phase formation of SrFe12O19 ferrites, while has great effects on its saturation magnetization and coercivity. Compared with the SrFe12O19 specimen obtained only using α-FeOOH as the Fe source, the specimen with mixed Fe sources has a bit lower saturation magnetization, but its coercivity increases obviously. This study provides a new way to improve the magnetic properties of SrFe12O19 ferrite.
