Thermal Field Analysis of the Intercooler for Air Compressor Based on Abaqus

  • The numerical analysis model of an air compressor intercooler was established with a commercial finite element software Abaqus. Combined with basic and model equations of fluid, the CFD(computational fluid dynamics)fluid- solid coupling module, the temperature field and strain coupling relationship of the shell, baffles and heat transfer tubes of the air compressor were simulated and analyzed. The results show that various strain displacements exist in shell, baffles and heat transfer tubes, especially in the position of installation and restrain.The temperature decreases along the direction of high pressure air flow, and the outlet temperature of high temperature compressed air is in agreement with that of the designed.
