Preparation and Performance of High Strength Non-sintered Ceramsite from Engineering Waste Soil

  • Highg strength non-sintered ceramsite was prepared with engineering waste soil as rqw material.The effects of waste soil composition, the dosage of curing agent and curing methods on the physical and mechanical properties of non-sintered ceramsite were studied. The results show that the composition of waste soil has a significant effect on the performance of non-sintered ceramsite, and the composite waste soil composed of sandy soil and clay soil is beneficial to the preparation of high-strength non-sintered ceramsite. The adhesion and interstitial filling of the hydration products of the soil stabilizer are the main reasons for the formation of adense whole of the slag particles. However, the amount of soil stabilizer has no significant effect on the bulk density and apparent density of non-sintered ceramsite, but has a significant effect on its cylinder compressive strength and mud content. When the dosage of soil stabilizer is 16% (mass fraction), the cylinder compressive strength of nonsintered ceramsite reaches 8.62 MPa, and the compression and crushing rate is only 34.97%, and the mud content is only 0.66%. In addition, increasing the curing temperature can accelerate the strength of the waste soil nonsintered ceramsite. The cylinder compressive strength of non-sintered ceramsite cured at 60 ℃ for 7 d reaches 7.95 MPa, and the water absorption and mud content are reduced to 14.92% and 0.69% respectively. The performances are similar to those of samples cured at room temperature (20 ℃) for 28 d.
